The Wisconsin Public Works Management Institute (PWMI) continues the leadership training offered in the Public Works Supervisory Academy by providing advanced management classes for managers and public works leaders.

The Institute is recognized and approved by the American Public Works Association (APWA) and offered by Wisconsin LTAP in cooperation with UW-Madison Interdisciplinary Professional Programs and Wisconsin Chapter-APWA.

Classes offered in the Public Works Management Institute are:

  • Advanced Communication Skills
  • Budgeting for Public Works
  • Labor and Employee Relations
  • Municipal Engineering Fundamentals (2-day program)
  • Municipal Engineering Fundamentals for Non-Engineers
  • Fundamentals of Public Works Operations
  • Public Works Management Institute Capstone

All classes are offered each calendar year. You may register for any of these classes without applying for the Institute.
