| The 2026 APWA Wisconsin Chapter Spring Conference will be held April 22 – 24, 2026, at the Brookfield Conference Center in Brookfield, Wisconsin. Conference hosts are Dan Erickson, City of Brookfield and David Simpson, City of Wauwatosa. The spring Conference Committee cochairs are Eric Dundee of the Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District and Aaron Jahncke, City of Waunakee. Several short-format vendor education sessions will highlight products and services from our exhibitors on Thursday along with traditional 50-minute educational sessions on Thursday and Friday. There will also be an Equipment Roadeo competition in the outdoor exhibit area on Thursday – more details to come on that. REGISTRATION
We have set up separate Attendee and Exhibitor Registration portals in the Whova app. The Exhibitor Registration portal is for registration of Exhibit spaces which includes a lead exhibitor and registration of Additional Exhibitors who will attend just exposition parts of the conference on Wednesday evening and Thursday. All other registrations (including golf) are available through the Attendee Registration portal. Exhibitor and Attendee registration information follows.

- MUELLNER BUILDING/ HART PARK TOUR: 2025 Flood Assessment and Restoration – A Floodplain Mitigation Success Story; Wauwatosa’s Engineering Team will describe how the August 2025 flood event effected Wauwatosa and how previous mitigation efforts reduced severity of flood damage including a tour of the Muellner Building/ Hart Park mitigation improvements. (12:30 PM – 1:30 PM Wednesday afternoon) PLEASE BE SURE TO RESERVE YOUR TOUR SPOT WITH A TICKET WHEN REGISTERING!
- BICYCLE TOUR: Join your public works colleagues on a bicycle tour starting at Hart Park in Wauwatosa immediately following the Technical Tour (1:30 PM-3:30 PM) and including flood management projects, road diet examples, Firefly Grove Park improvements and more. The ride will be led by David Simpson. If you are interested in utilizing a Bublr bike share please email Elizabeth Saunderson with Wauwatosa to coordinate reserving a bike, at esaunderson@wauwatosa.net. PLEASE BE SURE TO RESERVE YOUR BIKE TOUR SPOT WITH A TICKET WHEN REGISTERING!
- GET ACQUAINTED PARTY: The Get Acquainted Party will be at the Conference Center in the Exhibitor area with the exhibitors. Come meet your old and new public works colleagues, play games, have some food and beverages, and enjoy the night. The event starts at 5:00 p.m. We recommend casual or athletic wear, so you are prepared to engage in contests like golf chipping, pickleball, Jenga, corn hole and more.
- EQUIPMENT ROADEO COMPETITION: Participate in a Mini Equipment Roadeo competition in the outdoor exhibit area Thursday! Test your skills in this exciting competition! Contestants will face two timed challenges using the bucket of a stationary tractor-backhoe, courtesy of Fabick Cat. Competition will run Thursday morning in the outside exposition area, with winners announced during Thursday lunch. This event is open to all registered participants on a first-come, first-served basis. No operator license is required to participate.
- AWARDS BANQUET: The Thursday night awards banquet will be held at the Brookfield Conference Center to recognize outstanding projects and individuals who are being recognized through the Chapter’s annual awards program.
- YOUNG PROFESSIONALS HOSTED EVENT: Come enjoy a refreshing beverage, play some games, and connect with your fellow public works professionals at WhirlyBall Brookfield, just across the street from the conference center. All are welcome to join after the Thursday night Awards Banquet!
- CONFERENCE BENEFIT: This year’s conference benefit organization is Revitalize Milwaukee. Revitalize Milwaukee is committed to improving the health and safety of low-income seniors, veterans, and people living with disabilities by providing critical home repairs, including addressing mold, structural issues, plumbing and electrical safety hazards. Their primary goals are to (1) stabilize neighborhoods, (2) improve health and safety, and (3) preserve affordable housing.
| MOBILE CONFERENCE APP: We are excited to continue using the Whova mobile app for this conference based on its great success in our past conferences. All the conference information is available through it, saving the cost and waste of printed conference programs. Whova provides preconference networking opportunities, conference program, speaker and exhibitor updates, automatic updates and live networking opportunities during the conference and post conference access to attendee and session information. | WISCONSIN CHAPTER CANCELLATION POLICY: Cancellations requested by April 19, 2025 will be granted a full refund less a twenty-five dollar ($25) administrative fee. Refunds after April 19, 2025 may be granted due to special circumstances reviewed on a case-by-case basis by the host committee and then referred for approval of the Executive Committee. The host committee must receive all special circumstance requests by May 10, 2025 for consideration. All requests received after this date will be denied. Refund requests must be submitted to the host committee and treasurer describing the basis of the request and must include their mailing address and to whom the refund should be directed. All approved special request refunds will be issued after completion of the conference. |
