The American Public Works Association (APWA) is calling for volunteers to join Regional Nominating Committees for Regions I, II, V, VI, and VIII. As per APWA’s Bylaws, these committees play a vital role in selecting Regional Director candidates whose terms end in August 2025.
What’s Involved?
- The role involves approximately four hours of work, conducted through conference calls between February 1 and March 15.
- Committee members will review and discuss nominee qualifications, contributions, and commitment to public works.
Who Should Apply?
- Active APWA members who can represent their chapter’s interests.
- Members who regularly interact at regional and national events.
Region V Update: Larry Hummel, current Regional Director, is completing his first term and will not seek reappointment. This opens an opportunity to nominate a new representative.
Deadline: Submit nominations to Shelly Billingsley (Shelly.Billingsley@kenoshacountywi.gov) by noon, January 27, 2025.
